QUESTION

Why do I get an InitGraphic() error or protection fault when running my Phar Lap TNT MetaWINDOW application under Windows or OS/2?

ANSWER

The Phar Lap TNT DOS-extender is only able to support text-mode applications under Windows 3.1, Windows 95, Windows NT and OS/2. Specifically, Phar Lap TNT does not support mapping video memory addresses under Windows DPMI services. (MetaWindow uses the Phar Lap 250A call to map the video memory into flat model. This is not supported by the DPMI .9 server of Windows.)

If you wish to run your graphics application under a Windows or OS/2 DOS-box you will need to switch to a Windows "graphics compatible" DOS-extender such as Watcom or Rational DOS-4GW.
